Soul singer Adjoa Akoma fuses her ‘frankly fabulous’ soul vocals with influences from her Ghanaian ancestry.

She will be debuting songs from her recently completed first full album “Adinkra”, ranging from the “beautifully uplifting, inspirational and life-affirming” to the “peacefully calming and meditative”, interspersed with catchy, joyful, sing-along Ghanaian Twi-language chants and celebratory choruses.

Adjoa’s previous mini-album of the same name was highlighted as a ‘Project We Love’ during her successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, with singles featured on BBC Radio 6 as favourites on the Introducing Mixtape, and both voted in the top 5 of the week by listeners. Adjoa will also be singing timeless soul and Ghanaian favourites.
